1.6b Functionality in the Dispensing Panel – Date, Directions and Repeats Field
In the date field, we can type in almost any combination of the date, with or without slashes and this will update. For example, ‘0201’ gives the 2nd of January 2019.
If we put a value that would indicate a forward dated prescription, it will default to the previous year. ‘0808’ gives the August 8th 2018. We can put an ‘O’ in here to indicate that this is an Owing Script. We can also type the first two letters of any day of the week and it will update accordingly.
As you type the directions for a script, the label will update with the expanded directions. If the directions are a little unusual, there will be a visual indicator on the left in light blue advising it is higher or lower than normal doses. These do not impede your work flow.
In the Repeat fields we can do a few things, an ‘O’ would indicate that this is an Owing script. We can use the Prescribed Repeat Quantity plus a ‘d’, to indicate that this is a deferred prescription. We can use the Prescribed Repeat Quantity plus a ‘r’, to indicate that this is a Regulation 24 script. Or, if this is an Outside Repeat, we use the Prescribed Quantity, followed by the remaining Quantity and a ‘u’, this will then give you the Outside Repeats details to be entered – Original Script Number, Original Approval Number and Last Supply Date.
