How to do an End of Day report?
- At the end of the day, each Till should be closed off. This is done so the money collected during the day can be counted and compared to the expected values.
- In the End of Day program, you can see a few options. If you just wanted to view the report without actually closing off the Tills, you can do a Running Total, also known as a Y reading. This can be done per Selected Till or All Tills.
- If you want to close off a single Till, also known as a Z reading, you can use the Close Off option in the Selected Till section. Something else to note, you don’t have to working on that Till to close it. You can close a Till from any of the other computers, but it is often easier to do this one at a time. The Selected Till option is often used when you close the Tills at different times. For example you have three Tills. One gets closed at 5pm, the other at 5:30pm and the last one after you close at 6pm.
- If you want to close off All Tills, you can use the Close Off option in the All Tills section. This will close off all the “open” Tills. This option is often used if you wait until close for the evening before closing off all your Tills.
- Once all Tills have been closed off, a report will appear on the left with today’s date and time. Most pharmacies open and print this report to be reviewed at a later date.
