How to Create a Customer and an Account Holder in LOTS?

- LOTS has many different ways to add a new customer to the system. One of the easiest is from the Debtors module. At the top go to Tools, Edit Customer. Then select New Person. This will load the LOTS standard Edit Patient screen. From here you need to enter the customer’s first and last names, along with any of their other details that you may have. Once you have entered all of the customer’s details, click OK to save the person. They are now a customer within the system, but not yet a debtor.

- To make them a debtor, you need to go to Tools and Edit Customer again. But this time, you search for them. Once you have the Patient Details open, go to the Account tab and select Own Account. You will notice a few other options become available, select any that are applicable for this customer. Once completed, hit OK to save.

- After you have saved the details, you will notice this customer in now in the list of debtors. If you need to edit this customer further, with them highlighted you can go to Tools, Edit this Customer.

- If you want to link any of the family members to this account, they will first need to be created and saved in the system. Once this is done, you can go to Tools, Edit Customer and search for them. Then in the Account tab, select Other Account, and search for the primary account holder. The details that are listed are from the primary account holder and cannot be edited by a sub-account. Once you’re happy with all of the changes, hit OK.

- To view a statement for a particular debtor, there are a few options. You can right-click on the debtor, and View Statements for this Account. This will list all of the statements for this customer. You can also use the date filters on the right-hand side. Once highlighted, it will display all of the accounts that had been rolled over at that time.
